Toy Fair 2010 - Hunt for the Decepticons Line To Launch After NEST Promo
By Primus on Saturday, February 13, 2010
Live from Toy Fair in New York City, we have learned that the Hunt For Decepticons promotion will begin around August 1st, giving enough time for the N.E.S.T. Global Alliance promotion to wrap up.
We were given a lot of new figures and details about what's in store for this promotion, as well as what's in store for the end of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen line, be sure to read on for more!
The NEST promotion will run through Spring 2010, and of course, features Recon Ravage.
Hasbro says that this is the first toy that Hasbro has perfected with the vacuum metalization (VACMET) technique.
The company was assisted by Takara and they said to expect this to be available in future figures. When asked why it was an issue, Hasbro said that the plastic became too brittle and easily broke.
Beginning in Fall 2010
Really looking to take a step back and letting kids and fans capture what we have known about Transformers for a very long time.
HUNT FOR DECEPTICONS
Scheduled to arrive after the NEST Global Alliance Subline campaign for the mail-away Recon Ravage, the Hunt for Decepticons line will tie-in with an online video game. Packages will be marked with the special "Hunt for Decepticons" sticker and advertise that a code is available inside the package.
Stickers will be available on packages just like this
Using the code found inside specially marked packages, users can locate Decepticons and battle them. Eventually players will be asked to join the Autobot Alliance and fight more Decepticons.
As you buy more figures, you fight more Decepticons and go through training as well.
When asked if this game is a flash game, the Hasbro representative said that it is better than that - one of the podcasters suggested Silverlight.
They also say that they will continue with the tie-in bios and the reasons for what drives the characters.
New figures sporting the "Hunt for Decepticons" package include:
Legends:
+ Ravage
+ Rampage - they joked that they made sure they got the right color on Rampage
+ Long Haul
Scout:
+ Hubcap - Autobot that is close friends with Cliffjumper and transforms into a 1950s roadster
+ Brimstone - Decepticon who is an aggressive chopper
Wave 2 Preview
+ Insecticon - based off of the ones featured in the film
+ Breacher - a Voyager figure has been designed in mind to hold and interact with this Scout figure, similar to Mindwipe and Skystalker.
Deluxes
+ Ironhide - brand new mold and comes with a drone that can snap onto his truck mode. This drone can also be deployed as an artillery weapon just like in the Activision video game based off of the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
+ Battle Blades Bumblebee - Brand new mold and new transformation pattern. Features a battle axe, cannon, flip down visor.
+ Sea Attack Ravage - based off of the Diego Garcia battle
+ Jetblade - a jet
Wave 2 Preview
+ Sidearm Sideswipe - pistols instead of swords, which were given to him by Ironhide. The They can be hidden in his chest. He sports a nice new color scheme, too
+ Hailstorm - a missile carrier that is a little wider than he is tall. All of his missiles fire.
+ Elita-1 - Third and the final Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen motorcycles along with Arcee and Chromia. Hasbro also reveals that instructions to combine the three figures into the combiner that we've all wanted to see (okay, maybe that's stretching it) will be available online. They didn't explain why it would only be only, but hey, beggars cannot be choosers, right?
Voyager
+ Sea Spray - has webbed feet and scuba tanks to play up the aquatic theme
+ Ratchet - redeco
+ Payload - the yellow Long Haul redeco we saw earlier
Wave 2 Preview
+ Battle Blades Optimus Prime - This new voyager mold holds the matrix of leadership in his chest. You can take it out and play with it, too. He also sports swords, tank canisters for pistols, and a new transformation scheme.
Leader
+ Leader Starscream - pop-out missile cannons on both arms, detachable missile launcher that will snap onto his hand.
+ New Leader Prime - done pretty much for you to replay the forest battle scene from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with toys. The figure sports battle hooks, new paint deco, and a new head mold which has the right side of his face burned.
+ Battle Ops Bumblebee - Thought to be a leader, but is actually 2, yes tee double-u o, inches taller than any leader figure. The robot mode will have a battle mask and a converting arm cannon. Depending on if the battle mask is up or down, the figure will play serious, or playful sounds, respectively.
Human Alliance
Jazz w/ Lennox - He's back! Don't let that torn-in-half thing deter you, Jazz! Lennox is saddled up with figure and just like Human Alliance Mudflap and Skids, the figure will also come with a motorcycle, although this one is unnamed. At least not yet. The motorcycle transforms into an artillery piece that Lennox can sit on, as it is attached to the right arm of Jazz.
Activators
Create essential push-button point for kids. Shown were:
+ Bumblebee
+ Optimus Prime
+ Megatron
And finally... Video!

She's a redeco of Chromia. Poor choice of mold IMO. If they were going to redeco anyone (or preferrable retool), is should have been Arcee. They have similar bike modes and similar robot modes, the only major difference being that the front wheel isn't on the "legs" of "Elit... read more

Cause why chum the water when the fish are already in the nets? Hasbro lately reminds me of Toyota. This has nothing to do with the recalls, that just ice the cake.
During the 80's and 90's, you couldn't beat a Toyota. Everyone was a solid dependable car, and their profits showed it d... read more

I do have to say, I actually like the rallybots, but other than that, the whole line of PCC is a pass for me so far. Hailstorm looks pretty sweet. but please, Hasbro! more human alliance figs! I have seriously not been so excited about a TF line since alternators, which I guess makes sense, ... read more

I'd possibly get the Bruticus and Superion sets but that's just because I didn't pick up the ROTF/Energon Bruticus. Also, I'm sure one to two years down the road some third party will remake the arms and legs to transform into robots and charge an arm and a leg for them. We know ... read more

love how jazz looks, but I was really, really hoping that the human alliance line would make it into a bigger size class with an ironhide/lennox combo. on the other hand, i am not going to complain, as long as the line is continuing at all! long live human alliance! in fact, I would be all ... read more

Limbs DO NOT have robot modes or names * that is regarding the power core combiners.. i didn't know that.. now i'm disappointed. you'd think that with the technology these days they'd be able to make a quality combiner.
