The folks over at High Moon Studios and Activision seem to have slipped in a bit of a surprise this weekend: double XP for Transformers: War for Cybertron! The weekend began at 9PM Eastern/6PM Pacific tonight. It is not specified when it will end, but it will most likely end around Monday 3 AM Eastern and 12AM Pacific. Go, go, go!
The guys at High Moon Studios, award-winning developer of Transformers: War for Cybertron, are hosting a double XP multiplayer weekend starting this Friday, July 2nd at 6:00pm PST through Sunday, July 4th. Anyone playing in multiplayer matches on the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC versions of the game will earn double XP rewards and level up
faster than ever.
Okay, there is little over a week before Activision and High Moon Studios' Transformers: War for Cybertron hits store shelves and people's video game consoles. Have you reserved a copy yet? Matt Tieger, Game Director at High Moon Studios, as revealed that the Xbox Live exclusive demo of Transformers: War for Cybertron will begin tomorrow, June 10, 2010. Speakin on Kotaku Talk Radio, Mr. Tieger reveals that the demo will have two classes - Soldiers and Scouts - and two modes - Team Deathmatch and Conquest. Add the game to your download queue now! For United States and U.K. players, follow the links to add to your download queue so when you boot up your XBox tonight, it'll start all on its own!
Do not have a Microsoft XBox for Sony Playstation 3 but want to play Transformers: War for Cybertron? Well your other bet would be on the PC, and Best Buy has revealed whether or not your computer can handle it. Check it out after the jump!
Activision has released a new video of Transformers: War for Cybertron, which discusses the Decepticon and Autobot campaigns, boss fights, and co-op gameplay. The game designers reiterate that the Decepticon campaign timeline takes place before the Autobot campaign, but they stress that you are free to play either one you like. Read more.

Update: Amazon has posted a Demolisher video - Thanks "PhantomMorphX" Were you wondering if Shockwave, the Game Stop pre-order exclusive, is worth plunking down your hard-earned $60? This new video may help you decide. The video, available on the video game retailer's website shows off Shockwave in action, including flying, shooting, and generally just blowing the crap out of stuff. If this video doesn't help you with your decision of getting Demolisher or Shockwave, then we don't know what will. Head over to Gamestop.com and click the "Play Video" link located in the "Bonus" section of the page.
Game Informer has revealed that their May issue of their print magazine will feature a preview of Transformers: War for Cybertron. The magazine will hit mailboxes and magazine racks at your local Game Stop store soon. It is unknown if it is the same preview as we received earlier last month (it is approximately the same time that April's issue was released), an addition to that, or something else entirely. We will report back to when our office receives the magazine.
Transformers: War for Cybertron is ready to roll out June 22. Activision revealed the release date for its first original game based on the morphing robot series this week in a trailer offering a glimpse at the game's multiplayer modes.
The official Transformers: War for Cybertron web site has been updated with some new content and views from the game. The first character profiles have been added to the site with three Autobots: Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Bumblebee. As well as three Decepticons: Megatron, Soundwave and Starscream. We already know about more to come from today's new on Demolisher and Shockwave. The pre-order section now has a shot of all the different box cover variants with the retailers that will be offering them.
Gamespot has posted a new War for Cybertron trailer giving us a first look at the the multiplayer dimension that will be part of the gaming experience. The video also features an interview with High Moon's director Matt Tieger who talks us the through Optiums Prime's movements, weapons, and transforming actions. We're also shown a demo lead by Omega Supreme in boss fight agsinst the Decepticons. Check out the tailer now for more than meet the Multiplayer after the jump.
Johnny Yong Bosch who among other things played the role of the Black Ranger/Adam Park in the Power Rangers television series has confirmed on his Twitter page that he will be voicing the character of Bumblebee in Activision's upcoming Transformers: War For Cybertron game.
A new Transformer Animated "The Chase" game footage video has been posted on YouTube. Thanks to member wx0635 who has shared a look at the in-game play on one of the Arcade style kiosks that were at last weekend's 2010 Tokyo International Anime Fair in Japan. See the shooting game in action that looks like its made for very young children.
When Takara Tomy announced that Transformers Animated would be making its way to Japan back in January, Sega also announced that they would be developing video games based off of the series, and today, we learned that they are indeed arcade games. The official Takara Transformers website reveals that there will be a couple of arcade games: a racer and a shooter. As previously reported, the video game will tie into collectible cards, which will be available to assist players within the game. The cards seem to be available this month, according to the page, and is slated for release in the summer.
