We are just back from an exclusive preview with the people from Activision and High Moon Studio covering the Transformers: War For Cybertron game. Tformers was there with High Moon Studio's Game Director Matt Tieger on hand to get a first hand look at the new game. We've got a ton new details and information on the game. We are just a few months away from the release of the all new Transformers video game, War For Cybertron. Game Trailers Television have posted a new episode featuring an overview of the latest greatest games. Chapter 2: Prime and Prejudice features some new footage followed by an interview by Geoff Keighley with the High Moon Studio's Game Director - Matt Tieger. They talk about the game and give us some interesting reveals on what should be the greatest Transformers game EVER!
According to multiple reports, Activision and High Moon Studios' upcoming video game Transformers: War for Cybertron will allow players to create their own Transformer for multiplayer mode. Australia-based AusGamers and New Zealand-based 3 News have reported that a feature of the multiplayer mode of War for Cybertron will allow players to "create their own Transformers character for competitive head-to-head multiplayer modes." For those that were interested in wanting to take the reins of Grimlock, you might be in luck. Kotaku reports that Grimlock and Jetfire, among other characters, will be available in the Autobot version of the Nintendo DS video game. The video game website was provided a preview of the game, which encourages players to swap between the abilities of each character to complete missions. Kotaku was also provided a preview of the XBox 360, Playstation 3 version of the video game, which showed off a certain board and revealed some new information about the video game. Read more.
Transformers: War for Cybertron features two distinct storylines: the
AUTOBOT campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against
overwhelming odds, and the DECEPTICON campaign tells a story of an
unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe.
The time has come for the debut of the Transformers: War for Cybertron gameplay trailer! The video shows off some cut scenes, but also provides a look at some of the gameplay, showing the player taking on characters such as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron. The thumb seen on the right also shows off Omega Supreme's intense gun on his right arm, which is a prelude to the battle between the behemoth and Megatron that we were previewed at Toy Fair.
Geoff Keighley, host of Spike TV's Game Trailers TV (GTTV) has announced that the first game play trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron will be featured in this week's show. Announced on his Twitter page, Mr. Keighley writes, "First Transformers: War for Cybertron gameplay trailer will be in this week's GTTV." The show airs on Spike TV at 12:30 AM every Thursday. Amazon has posted a pre-order listing for the the previously reported "Transformers: Exodus: The Official History of the War for Cybertron" book. The listing offers details on the publication. Authored by Alex Irvine, it will be offered in a hardback edition book covers a whopping 352 pages. The release is slated for June 22, 2010 at a suggested retail fo $27.00 USD. The real news is the extended title suggests it is for Activision's new game.

This line fits sort of like the Universe - part 3 - but will only encompass deluxe figures. Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith revealed during a recent investors conference call that the Transformers: War for Cybertron video game will be shipping in May. The release date for the video game was pegged as June 22, 2010 by both Amazon.com and GameStop.com but it was never officially confirmed by Activision. Read more.
We reported this past weekend that Game Stop was offering the exclusive character Shockwave for your multiplayer purposes when you pre-order the Transformers: War for Cybertron from them. Well, today, they are showing off said character. Fans of the Generation 1 era will most likely not be disappointed at the character, which you can view after the jump.
GameStop has revealed that if you pre-order the Transformers: War for Cybertron video game through their website or brick and mortar store, you will gain access to Shockwave, in multiplayer mode. The character is exclusive to GameStop and a code will be provided to customers when the game releases.

The folks over at UGO have landed the first pics of War for Cybertron's Optimus and Megatron toys fully painted and in both robot and alternate modes! Check them out here.
The Transformers Collectors Club has posted the cover to their 31st issue of their club magazine, and it reveals the Transformers: War For Cybertron Bumblebee figure in robot mode. The image reveals a Bumblebee which is very similar to the video game counterpart, albeit a little more gold. The posting on the club's official website also reveals that the article will spotlight a Q&A session with Activision. A future issue of the club magazine will also feature Jim Sorenson, who will provide a sneak peek of the products available this year.
Update: Transformers Collectors' Club has officially released the Bumblebee image that was previously reported here. More information on the reveal of issue #31 is available in this article. So after a couple of reports that the upcoming Transformers: War for Cybertron video game from Activision and High Moon Studios would be accompanied by a toyline from Hasbro, Inc., it has been officially confirmed that this is indeed true. As Activision promised, there really is More than Meets the Eye with Transformers War For Cybertron. Thanks to S250 who has posted a brand new image of an Optimus Prime action figure that further supports the rumor that the new video game is likely going to have a new toy line to go with it. The good news is this is a totally new mold and class with a lot more function and details than the Optimus Prime toy seen already.

Following up to their interview with the concept designers at High Moon Studios, Game Informer has posted new concept art designs from the Transformers: War for Cybertron video game. One of the core goals of the studio behind the video game is to turn Cybertron "into a compelling setting that gamers care about," Game Informer writes. Concept art includes a crumbling Iacon after suffering an attack from the Decepticons, Optimus Prime designs, and other concepts around Cybertron. Check out the concept art after the jump.
Yesterday Amazon revealed the tentative release date for Transformers: War for Cybertron as June 22, 2010. Today, they have revealed the mock-up cover for the video game. The box art looks like the kind that you would see at your Gamestop or local video game store advertising the video game, so don't be surprised to see it at said stores sometime in the future. Phew! These High Moon Studios guys mean business when it comes to Transformers. Cinematics director Dave Cravens is no noob to the 25 year old franchise. He's been a fan since he was a little kid. The war for Cybertron begins as the Autobots and Decepticons clash in the brand new original Transformers title! The game trailer, debuting at GameTrailers, shows off what we here at TFormers can only define as a badass looking Optimus Prime (still shots here). His design is reminiscent of the Transformers Animated Earth Mode with the trademark split window for the chest, only his chest is a lot broader and he looks like he took some steroids. Read more.
